Bromley Football Club are pleased to announce that Academy Scholar Liam Vincent has signed first team forms.

The talented 17 year old has been a part of the Club’s successful Academy in conjunction with The Ravensbourne School for the past year, and has featured in the Professional Development U23 side.

His talent was spotted at an early age, and manager Neil Smith has kept a keen eye on his progress. He first featured in the first team during a friendly away to Dartford during the 2019/20 season, and also played the full 90 minutes in Saturday’s 4-3 win over Cray Wanderers.

Manager Neil Smith was delighted to secure the latest of the Academy talent: “Liam’s a player with huge potential and he’s fit in really well with the first team.”

Liam is the fifth First Year Professional to sign up ahead of the 2020/21 season. Speaking more generally on the new system, Smith commented; “I’m really grateful that the Chairman has financially supported us with a view to nurturing and developing our future talent.”

“The idea is for continued steps from our thriving academy, to the Professional Development Squad (U23s), and then to the First Year Professionals. The next step is then the first team, which gives the players a pathway from our youth setup right to the first team.”

“In the future, the aim is for the First Year Professional group to consist of home grown, Bromley FC talent from the Academy and U23s, and will make them ready to move on to the first team”.

So far, the Club’s list of First Year professionals is:

Tarek Najia
Jude Arthurs
Ben Allen
Tom Purrington
Liam Vincent
