Bromley Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of defender Dave Winfield.

The 31 year old has a wealth of experience in the National League and the Football League. Having started his career with hometown Club Aldershot Town, he represented Chertsey Town, Staines Town and Salisbury City on loan during his time with the shots.

He then spent time in Leagues One and Two with Wycombe Wanderers, Shrewsbury Town, York City and AFC Wimbledon.

Following his departure from York, he signed for Ebbsfleet United and played a key part in their promotion during his first season, scoring a decisive goal in their playoff final against Chelmsford City.

Following two seasons in the National League with Ebbsfleet, Winfield departed at the end of the 2018-19 season. He joins Bromley having had a stint with Chelmsford City this season, scoring twice in ten appearances.

Manager Neil Smith commented; “We spoke to David previously about coming on board, and for whatever reason, it didn’t happen. He’s someone I’ve monitored since then, and with what’s happened with Marc-Anthony and Rarmani, I needed to fill that void. David comes in having played at a good level for a while and has the experience we need.”

Winfield added; “I’m delighted to be on board. I’ve worked with a few of the boys here in the past, which should help to ease the transition a bit. The setup is fantastic at this Club, so I’m looking forward to getting started.”

Winfield will wear the number 5 shirt and subject to FA and National League approval, will be available for tomorrow’s trip to Chesterfield.
