Ravens clinch point in 1-1 draw at Aldershot

Callum Reynolds scored his second in as many games as the Ravens came away with a point after a 1-1 draw away at Aldershot Town.

The hosts produced the first piece of attacking threat of the game as former Raven Jack Barham poked wide a dangerous cross from the right at the near-post.

The Aldershot number 22 was at it again soon after. This time, striking just wide of the post.

The dead-lock was eventually broken on 35 minutes when the ball fell to Lorent Tolaj and after almost being denied the first effort by Grant Smith who raced off his line, he buried the second attempt, despite Reynolds’ best efforts to block the strike.

Up the other end and chances fell to Josh Passley and Louis Dennis, but the Ravens returned to the changing rooms a goal down.

Grant Smith was called into action multiple times in the second 45, including on the 48th minute when he was on hand to deny a long-ranged effort from Ryan Glover.

The miss proved costly as the Ravens equalised just shy of the hour mark. Louis Dennis saw an effort well saved by Jordi van Stappershoef, but Reynolds was on hand to bury his second in as many games.

Tolaj caused Bromley all sorts of problems throughout the game and he saw a dipping strike from range land in the terrace behind the goal, before Glover’s dangerous free-kick from just outside the box was well saved by Smith.

The Bromley ‘keeper made another strong save on 67 minutes before the Shots hit the post from a corner.

Passley had a glorious chance to win it in the closing stages of normal time when a ball was played across goal and the number seven cleared the crossbar from close range.

Aldershot had two fantastic opportunities to come away with maximum points during the eight minutes added on, including an effort which forced Smith into yet another brilliant diving save.

Despite late pressure from both sides, the scores finished level.
