The Ravens clinch a point away at fellow play-off chasers Eastleigh on Saturday, drawing 0-0 at the Silverlake.

It was an action-packed first half with chances falling to both sides, but it was the hosts who nearly opened the scoring on five minutes when a dangerous cross found Ousseynou Cisse who blasted over the bar.

Soon after, Oscar Rutherford swung a ball in from the flank and it was headed into Reice Charles-Cook’s hands by Charlie Carter in the box.

Kairo Mitchell nearly turned home another dangerous Eastleigh cross on 12 minutes before Bromley had a chance themselves. Charley Kendall found Corey Whitely who pulled it back to Ryan Stirk and the midfielder tried to slot it into the bottom corner, but it was comfortably saved by Joe McDonnell.

The best chance of the half fell Bromley’s way though as Whitely was in the thick of it again, playing a lofted ball in towards Michael Cheek at the back-post and his header cannoned back off the outside of the post.

Kellen Fisher put in some unbelievable defending on 24 minutes when he denied a certain opener for Eastleigh, throwing his body on the line to prevent any further danger.

Cheek then skimmed an effort just past the post before the number nine found Fisher who was racing towards goal, but the young full-back could only find the ‘keeper with his thunderous effort.

Oscar Rutherford forced Charles-Cook into a catch on the half-hour mark. However, up the other end, Bes Topalloj did well to find Jude Arthurs in the box, his diving header glancing past the goal-mouth in the final opportunity of the half.

The second period provided just as much drama and it all started when Corey Panter was shown a straight red card after a strong challenge on Cheek.

Vincent Harper then raced forward before striking high of the bar before Whitely headed a Dennis cross just shy of the hour mark.

Kendall attempted a spectacular curling effort after a corner was headed towards goal by Omar Sowunmi and rolled back out to the striker, but his shot bent round the post.

Charles-Cook then produced an unbelievable save on 73 minutes to deny a brilliant Eastleigh chance.

Pressure built from Bromley in the closing stages, but a goalless draw against the ten men was all we came away with.
