We are delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Sam Woods following his departure from fellow National League side Barnet.
The Bromley-born 24-year-old, who becomes our first signing of the summer, began his career in the youth set-up at Crystal Palace where he’d go on to make his senior debut in 2018, coming on as a sub in an EFL Cup tie against Middlesbrough. A first start in a Palace shirt soon followed, playing the full 90 in a 0-0 draw against Colchester United at Selhurst Park in the same competition.
Woods then swapped England for Scotland a few months later as he spent time on loan at Hamilton Academical where he made three appearances in the Scottish Premiership, netting on his debut against Livingston.
An EFL loan spell followed a year later as he joined Plymouth Argyle, going onto make nine appearances in League One.
October 2021 saw his time at Palace come to an end as he joined Barnet where he’d go on to enjoy 40 National League outings, netting his first and only goal for the Bees in a 6-0 win over Dover Athletic just over a year ago.
Woods, who also spent a period on loan at Cheshunt during his time at The Hive, featured in both meetings with Bromley last season.
Welcome to Hayes Lane, Sam!
