Kent Youth League – The season so far!

  • Youth

Bromley’s Kent Youth League U15s welcome Herne Bay to Hayes Lane on Sunday morning (kicking off at 10am on the Stadium Pitch), as they look to progress through to the Semi-Finals of the Kent Youth League Cup.

We’d like to wish all our teams in action the very best of luck! Check out our summary of the Kent Youth League season so far below!

The Kent Youth League setup for 2021-22 will see four Bromley FC teams involved. With the COVID uncertainty experienced in the past couple of years, most sides from the previous season kept the same players with only a couple of new additions to each squad. The new season started in September 2021, with all teams entered into both the League cup and the prestigious Kent County Cup competition.

The League is very competitive and a good scouting ground for professional clubs looking at players performing in arguably the best league north of Kent.

We are now just past the halfway stage of the season for our two younger teams, with the U13s having to adjust to now playing 11-a-side, which they’ve done very well. They are currently sitting in the top three in the League table!

Our under 14s have coped with a number of players going on trials at professional clubs, with players having to play in various positions they aren’t used to. They also have had a good league campaign so far, sitting in the top three in their league.

Moving on to both the Under 15s and Under 16s, both of whom are have games in hand due to double cup success. The League campaign for the Under 15s has gone well, with other teams taking valuable points from each other. This has allowed the Under 15s to keep in touch with the early pace setters. The Under 15s sit fourth in the table, with games in hand against teams around them. They still also have a Quarter-Final League Cup match and Semi-Final of the County cup to look forward to. So, all in all, a solid first half of the season so far.

The Under 16s have replicated this, and are at the same stage as our Under 15s; a League Cup Quarter-Final and a Kent County Cup Semi-Final.

So, the new year looks as exciting as ever. Good luck to all of our teams for 2022!
