Youth Section: Week 1 & 2 Update

This season our Bromley Youth Section, who complete in the Kent Youth League, has grown to six teams. There are now two Under 18 sides which has assisted with the overall footballing structure of the Club which includes our Junior Section and newly formed Academy based at The Warren.

Match Week 1 – Sunday 3rd September

The opening round of fixtures witnessed some high scoring matches.

Our Under 18 ‘A’ side won comfortably with last seasons top goalscorer Luia Suliman carrying on where he left off by bagging a hat trick. Meanwhile, Academy striker Trey Small also opened his account in the 4-2 win against Cray Wanderers.

The Under 18 ‘B’ side also picked up a win but not is quite so comfortable circumstances. Despite going in at half time 4-1 up the lead was allowed to slip in the second half but the side did eventually come out on top 5-4 with a last gasp goal from Kyrque Garvey-Williams.

Bromley Under 16’s took on last seasons runners up Erith & Belvedere. Despite a good first half performance the Ravens went in 1-0 down and both sides squandered chances in the second half leaving the score 1-0 to Erith & Belvedere.

An opening day rest for our Under 15 side who had no fixture.

Our Under 14’s, last seasons league runners up and County Cup winners, picked up a great with against Kent Football United. Smiles all round for Manager and First Team Goalkeeping Coach Glyn Shimell.

Under 13’s made their Kent Youth League debut at VCD and came away with a hard fought 2-2 draw with goals from Joe Robson and Ramez Hefzalla.

Match Week 2 – Sunday 10th September

The Kent Youth League fixtures left both our Under 18 (First Year) and Under 16 sides without fixtures.

Our Under 18 ‘A’ side played a vibrant Meridian VPR who played their part in a entertaining match that saw our Under 18’s come out on top to remain top of the table.

The Under 15’s played their first game of the season with a vast amount of new recruits and opened their account with three points against West Wickham.

The Under 14’s made it two wins in two games beating last seasons champions Cray Wanderers to take top spot.

Meanwhile, our Under 13’s suffered a defeat in only their second ever game in the Kent Youth League.
