Bromley Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Karl Robinson as the club’s new First Team Manager on a long-term contract.

The club would like to thank Byron Webster for his professionalism during his time as interim manager. Byron will remain part of the backroom team.

Robinson arrives at the CopperJax Community Stadium with an exceptional pedigree and proven track record in League One, having managed well over 700 competitive fixtures across the English Football League.

Most notably, he guided Milton Keynes Dons to automatic promotion to the Championship, cementing his reputation as one of the most dynamic, tactically astute, and forward-thinking managers in the division before going on to oversee consistent, high-performing League One campaigns with Charlton Athletic and Oxford United.

This appointment represents an historic milestone for the Ravens, marking the first time the club has appointed a manager as a member of the Football League and signals a clear statement of intent and underpins Bromley’s strategic vision to not only establish the club in League One, but to actively build a competitive, sustainable, and ambitious future.

Chairman Robin Stanton-Gleaves shared his delight at securing Robinson's services to lead the next phase of the Ravens’ development:

Robinson, who takes charge ahead of the upcoming FA Cup fixture with Rotherham United, expressed his pride and enthusiasm at taking the helm:

Saturday's tie will also be our designated remembrance fixture.

It is also an opportunity to show our gratitude and reaffirm our commitment to supporting those who have served.

We’re honoured to welcome guests from the Ministry of Defence, members of Bromley FC Community Trust’s Veterans Hub, our Armed Forces community partners and local Armed Forces cadet groups, to the CopperJax Community Stadium to share this important occasion with us.

We’re also delighted to welcome the Mayor of Bromley, who will join us in marking this special occasion and paying tribute to our Armed Forces community.

Ahead of kick-off, a special guard of honour will be formed by serving personnel and veterans.

There will also be a 20% off food and drinks offer across the stadium for those who have and continue to serve. Simply show your veteran card or Armed Forces service ID.

This will be followed by a bugler playing The Last Post, before we invite everyone inside the stadium to join us in a minute’s silence as we pause, reflect and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We can confirm that our home fixture against Notts County, scheduled for Saturday 14th November, has been postponed due to international call-ups on both sides.

A new date and time will be announced in due course with tickets already purchased valid for the rearranged fixture.

The Ravens return to action this Saturday in the Emirates FA Cup as we face Rotherham United in Round One.

The Ravens head to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday 12th December, 3pm kick-off.

All tickets will be digital and can be scanned at the turnstiles or printed off beforehand. Tickets will be available to purchase on the day from the Club Doncaster Academy Reception, located next to the turnstiles, from 1pm.

As we look ahead to Saturday's visit of Rotherham United in the First Round of the Emirates FA Cup, we reflect on when the Ravens made history in the competition during the 2024/25 season!

The campaign was already jam-packed with first-times as we debuted in the EFL.

It didn't stop there though as Bromley also broke records domestically by reaching the Third Round of the FA Cup for the first time.

First Round

Following promotion to Sky Bet League Two, it would be the first time the Ravens didn't have to qualify for the competition as they automatically entered at the First Round stage.

National League side Rochdale would be their first opponents in a dramatic seven-goal thriller at Spotland Stadium.

The Ravens couldn't have wished for a better start when Corey Whitely and Michael Cheek netted in the opening three minutes to give Bromley an early two-goal advantage.

However, the hosts would complete an extraordinary comeback when they bagged three goals and with the third coming on 80 minutes, it didn't look to be Bromley's day.

Levi Amantchi bagged on 90 minutes though as the tie took another turn and looked to be heading to penalties.

However, deep into stoppage time, Whitely bagged his brace as the Ravens progressed to Round Two for the first time in 78 years.

Second Round

Bromley would have to deal with more National League opposition at the second hurdle and this time, against the side the Ravens beat in the play-off final to clinch promotion to the EFL.

It was a trip to Solihull Moors in December 2024 and after Conor Wilkinson gave the hosts a 12th minute lead, it was quickly cancelled out by Omar Sowunmi.

Danny Imray, who received a red card in the first round, redeemed himself in Round Two by netting the winner and clinching Man of the Match.

A 2-1 victory in Birmingham meant the Ravens would join the big guns in Round Three.

Third Round

The Ravens would face a trip to Premier League giants Newcastle United in the Third Round and would get off to a perfect start when Cameron Congreve let fly from range to give League Two Bromley an eight-minute lead.

Lewis Miley's equaliser would see both sides level at the break.

However, Eddie Howe made a couple of changes at the break to avoid an upset, with one being Anthony Gordon who bagged a penalty four minutes into the second half.

William Osula netted just past the hour mark to put the tie out of reach.

It was an afternoon to be proud of regardless of the result as the Ravens went toe-to-toe with a side who would finish the season with the Carabao Cup and qualification into the 2025/26 Champions League.

Ashley Charles spoke to BFC TV for the first time since his ACL injury, talking about his rehabilitation programme, how the club have helped him during the process, and his footballing career so far. 

Beginning on finding his passion for football from a young age, our number four explained that football came naturally to him:

“I had a goal in the garden. My mum and dad used to take me to play on a Sunday. 

“I started off at a team called Sun Postal, was there for a few years, then I moved over to Cassiobury Rangers. I absolutely loved my time there and we had huge success in the county cups. 

“I was playing for Watford’s development centre whilst also playing on a Sunday and they told me I should go to a trial for the academy, and I remember so many people turning up to get in. I ended up going on trial for the academy and I was the one that got signed out of everyone.”

Ashley spent time at Wealdstone before arriving in BR2, and reflected on his time there. 

“I played under Dean & Stuart Maynard there, two incredible managers. 

“My spell there really made me fall in love with football, we played beautiful football. 

“We got promoted in my first season there and I remember how we won the title, and how successful of a time it was.” 

Charles then reflected on his time at the CopperJax Community Stadium, recalling the expectations right from when he came through the door. 

“I remember the goal was to get promoted straight away (from the National League), and it was really good to have that end goal and achieve that in the best way possible, at Wembley, in a play-off final.

“The first season of League Two was tough, finding our feet, but the season following we came in full of confidence. To be honest, we started slow, but then we hit our stride being top by Christmas and we stayed there. 

“It was one of the most enjoyable seasons I’ve had. Winning is fun.” 

Being part of what some could describe as a fairytale rise from non-league to the third tier, 'Ash' also reflected on playing a part in bringing the club forward. 

“It’s amazing to be part of. 

“Everyone used to see Wrexham, Stockport, they used to fly up the leagues. I don’t think anyone believed a team who didn’t have the finances of them could do the same. 

“You never know when you sign to a club you’re going to do those things, but it’s a blessing and I’m grateful to be a part of it, having met some incredible people along the way.” 

Ashley unfortunately suffered a major injury blow back in August, and he has begun his work back towards recovery, and touches on what’s been happening in his world and how big of an impact the club and staff have had. 

“It was a blow to have done the whole pre-season and then have a freak twist of the knee like that.

“I walked off the pitch that day thinking I’d be alright. I told the gaffer I could play the next game!

“The club has been great, they got me booked into surgery and I was done in a week. The first few weeks were slow, purely bed bound, but now I'm full time in the gym, I’m feeling really strong. 

“Every department has been so welcoming getting me back in, and having people like Victor (Adeboyejo) who have done it before has been gold, because I can get advice from them. 

“I’ve got nine months to full recovery, we’ve done two months so now it’s about building strength in the gym. It’s all about getting back to the pitch now, and when I’m done I’ll be back for good.” 

Our midfielder also explained that it’s good to keep the good times flowing even if a long term absence is keeping him away. 

“I think I’m quite a positive person, I don’t really let things get me down.I like to stay level headed even when we had success here. 

“I’ve taken that mentality into this injury. I know I can’t come back too fast otherwise I’ll do it again, so I’ve come to terms with it. 

Ashley says that even though he can’t be on the pitch, he’ll be at the CopperJax week in, week out. 

“I’m always here at the home games, if you ever want to come and chat, I’m always going to be here.”

Bromley FC Women continued their impressive league form on Sunday afternoon, securing a 5-2 victory over Newhaven FC Women at The Trafalgar Ground to record their second consecutive five-goal performance in just four days.

Following Thursday evening’s emphatic 5-0 victory away to Aylesford, Dean Davenport’s side faced a quick turnaround as they returned to London & South East Regional Women’s Football League Premier Division action, looking to build on their midweek success.

Bromley continued their attacking momentum during an entertaining first half, with Jacey Lane, Emily Adolphe and Beth Hull all finding the back of the net.

However, the hosts remained firmly in contention, responding with two goals of their own to ensure the visitors headed into the interval holding a narrow 3-2 advantage.

With the contest finely balanced, Bromley returned for the second half determined to extend their lead and secure another important three points.

The visitors demonstrated their attacking quality once again, adding two further goals after the break. Hull completed her brace with her second of the afternoon, while Mia Lockett also found the net to seal an impressive 5-2 victory.

The result saw four different Bromley players get on the scoresheet, highlighting the attacking contributions throughout Davenport’s squad.

Having scored ten goals across two away fixtures in just four days, Bromley continued their positive momentum, securing back-to-back league victories and another valuable three points.

The performance also demonstrated the squad’s ability to respond to a demanding fixture schedule, maintaining their attacking threat and determination despite the short turnaround between matches.

Attention now turns to cup competition as Bromley return to home action next Sunday, 8 November, when they welcome Sport London Benfica in the League Cup.

With a place in the next round at stake, Davenport’s side will be looking to carry their recent winning momentum into the competition, with kick-off scheduled for 2pm.

Bromley South is the closest railway station to the CopperJax Community Stadium.

The stadium is approximately a 20-minute walk from the station.

Bromley South has regular services to and from London Victoria, London Blackfriars and destinations in Kent.

Walking from Bromley South

Exit Bromley South station and head towards the High Street.

Continue onto Masons Hill, before turning right onto Cromwell Avenue.

Continue until you reach Hayes Lane, where the stadium will be visible further along the road.

Allow approximately 20 minutes for the walk. 

Bromley suffered back-to-back away defeats after a 3-2 loss at Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

The Ravens initially made four changes from Tuesday night's defeat at MK Dons as Jodi Jones, Corey Whitely, Mickel Miller and Ben Thompson returned to the starting line-up. However, the latter pulled up with an injury in the warm-up and was replaced by Will Hondermarck; Freddie Cowin was then named on the bench.

The hosts started on the front-foot, posing an attacking threat in the opening stages, but the first chance fell Bromley's way on five minutes when a Mitch Pinnock corner was headed narrowly over by Adam Jackson.

The visitors did have their noses in-front moments later and Pinnock was in the thick of it again when his throw-in eventually fell to Kamarl Grant who fired home from close range.

However, Wigan clawed themselves level on 18 minutes when Christian Saydee tapped home from close range following a pass fizzed across the face of goal from the right.

The hosts almost turned the game on its head and it was a similar passage of play, this time from the left. However, Grant Smith was there to produce a great save to keep the scores level.

However, on 24 minutes, Wigan did take the lead when a header bounced back down off the crossbar kindly for K'Marni Miller to nod home from just a couple of yards out.

The Latics pushed for a third just past the half-hour mark and Smith was called into action again to react well to a deflected effort from range, bouncing off Omar Sowunmi, who earlier replaced Jackson after the defender was forced off with an injury.

The Ravens would return to the changing rooms at half-time level after Miller did well to play a ball over to Cheek who was denied before George Saville hooked the ball into the bottom corner to level proceedings just before the break to net his first for the club.

12 minutes into the second half and the hosts regained their lead when a ball was played across goal again for Brad Burrowes to fire into the top corner from just yards out.

Wigan managed to see out the second 45 and hold on to clinch a vital three points.

Bromley FC Women produced a commanding performance on Thursday evening, securing an impressive 5–0 away victory over Aylesford in the London & South East Regional Women’s Football League Premier Division.

Goals from Mia Lockett, Phoebe Murton, Chana Hinds, Mel Espinosa and Beth Hull ensured a memorable evening for Dean Davenport’s side, with five different players getting on the scoresheet in a comprehensive team display.

Returning to league action following Sunday’s Women’s FA Cup defeat to Barking, Bromley responded in emphatic fashion, demonstrating their attacking strength and determination to build momentum in the league campaign.

Two-Goal Advantage at the Break

Under the floodlights at Aylesford, Bromley made their attacking intentions clear in the opening 45 minutes, establishing a two-goal advantage before the interval.

Mia Lockett and Phoebe Murton were both on target during the first half, putting the visitors firmly in control of the contest and providing a strong platform for the remainder of the evening.

The two goals reflected Bromley’s positive approach, with the visitors heading into the dressing room at half-time holding a commanding 2–0 lead.

Second-Half Goals Complete the Rout

Bromley continued to build on their advantage after the restart, adding a further three goals to put the result beyond doubt.

Chana Hinds, Mel Espinosa and Beth Hull all added their names to the scoresheet as Bromley extended their lead to five, completing an emphatic away victory.

With goals coming from five different players, the result highlighted the attacking options available throughout the squad and the collective contribution behind another impressive league performance.

The 5–0 scoreline also provided an important response following the disappointment of the previous weekend’s cup exit, with Bromley quickly turning their attention back to their league ambitions.

Having already recorded convincing victories against Dorking Wanderers and Ashford United earlier in the season, Thursday’s result adds another emphatic performance to Bromley’s 2026/27 campaign.

Attention Turns to Newhaven

There is little time to dwell on Thursday’s success, with Bromley returning to league action this Sunday, 1 November, as they travel to face Newhaven in the London & South East Regional Women’s Football League Premier Division.

With kick-off scheduled for 2:30pm, Davenport and his squad will be looking to carry their goalscoring form and winning momentum into another important away fixture as they continue their league campaign.

This would be the first meeting between the two sides since both clubs achieved promotion from the fourth tier last season.

The Ravens made one change from Saturday's draw as Omar Sowunmi returned to captain the side, replacing Jodi Jones as Marcus Ifill switched back out wide.

The first chance of the game came on 17 minutes when Sam Nombe was played through on goal, but Grant Smith raced out of his line to come out on top in the one-on-one situation.

Moments later and the Bromley 'keeper was called into action again when a free-kick was laid off to Alex Gilbey who's deflected shot nearly wrong-footed Smith, but the man between the sticks adjusted his feet to flick it away.

The Dons' pressure paid off when Gilbey chipped the ball through to Aaron Collins who took a touch before poking home from close range five minutes before the break.

The Ravens eyed an equaliser when Will Hondermarck's effort, following some great play from Michael Cheek, stung the gloves of the goalkeeper.

The leveller did come just before the break when Mitch Pinnock's free-kick tucked itself into the bottom corner on the stroke of half-time.

The hosts started the second half on the front foot when Sam Silvera let rip from just inside the box before seeing his effort cannon back off the post.

MK did have their second when Collins cut inside on the hour mark before tucking home his brace.

Two quickly became three when a cross was floated in from the right and Gilbey was there to nod home for the hosts.

MK put the game out of reach on 78 minutes when the ball was played into the box again for Charlie Goode to smash home.

A result to put behind the Ravens as focus now turns to Saturday's trip to Wigan Athletic.

Bromley FC Women’s 2026/27 Women’s FA Cup campaign came to an end on Sunday afternoon, as Dean Davenport’s side suffered a 2–0 defeat away to Barking in the First Round Proper of the competition.

Having enjoyed an impressive cup run, including a memorable victory over Reading in front of a record-breaking home crowd earlier this month, Bromley travelled to Barking hoping to extend their journey in the competition.

The two sides were already familiar with one another, having played out an entertaining 2–2 draw in the London & South East Regional Women’s Football League Premier Division in September. On that occasion, goals from Morgan Searle and Emily Vaughan ensured Bromley returned home with a share of the points.

Sunday’s encounter presented a different challenge, with a place in the Second Round Proper of the Women’s FA Cup at stake.

Blustery conditions made for a challenging afternoon, with strong winds adding an unpredictable element to proceedings and making it difficult for both sides to establish a consistent rhythm.

Despite the difficult conditions, Bromley created opportunities in front of goal, coming agonisingly close on several occasions as efforts struck the crossbar.

However, it was the hosts who found the breakthrough, establishing a 1–0 advantage heading into the half-time interval.

With their cup ambitions on the line, Bromley continued searching for a way back into the contest after the restart. The visitors threatened the Barking goal but were left frustrated as their efforts failed to produce the equaliser.

A second goal for Barking ultimately secured a 2–0 victory for the hosts, bringing Bromley’s involvement in this season’s competition to a close.

Despite the disappointment of exiting the competition, Bromley can reflect with pride on a cup campaign that has provided several memorable moments and represented another important chapter in the team’s continued development.

The standout occasion came on Sunday 4 October, when Bromley welcomed Reading to the CopperJax Community Stadium in the Third Round Qualifying.

The fixture formed part of the club’s ambitious Raise the Record campaign, which aimed to surpass the previous women’s attendance record of 1,053.

An outstanding response from supporters saw 1,208 spectators attend the match, setting a new attendance record for Bromley FC Women and demonstrating the growing support surrounding the side.

On the pitch, Beth Hull provided the decisive moment, scoring the only goal in a hard-fought 1–0 victory to send Bromley into the First Round Proper.

That occasion marked a significant milestone for the club, with the record-breaking crowd providing a fitting backdrop to another important achievement for women’s football at Bromley.

While Sunday’s result brings their cup journey to a close, Davenport and his squad can take pride in their achievements throughout the competition, both on and off the pitch, as they continue to make progress following promotion to Tier 5 of the women’s football pyramid.

Attention now returns to the London & South East Regional Women’s Football League Premier Division, with Bromley looking to respond positively when they take on Aylesford on Thursday evening (29 October), with kick-off scheduled for 7:45pm.
