Our Youth Academy sides returned to action at the weekend as another round of JPL fixtures commenced.
Starting with our U12 Boys and they beat Fisher Youth 4-3, despite going 3-0 down. The boys kept their heads up and with some good playing between the thirds, matched with solid defending after conceding three goals, the Ravens managed to score four goals and turn it around. Bromley goals came from Ebik Gurung, Elliot Morris, Izhaaq Baree and Benjamin Pickard whilst both Elliot and Izhaaq clinched Player of the Match awards.
Moving on to our U14 Boys and they drew 2-2 with Slough Town. The Ravens had a number of injuries going into the game which meant some boys were playing out of position. Some players even played with injuries and two who featured were ill and have been off school. The character and performance was very good. Goals were scored by Riley Williams and Jaydn Wright whilst Hunter Caldwell, Jaydn Wright and Joe O’Hare all put in Team of the Week performances.
As for our U14 Girls, they fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat against Motspur Park. The Ravens played some nice football with Rosie Farrow-Smith chipping in with the goal. Amber Corner put in a Player of the Match performance, playing out of position with the midfielder having to switch to right back to cover an injury.
It proved to be a convincing 6-0 victory for our U16 Boys who beat Chatham away from home. Freddie Sinclair netted a brace whilst Mogan Dullaghan, George Rees, Ethan Wright and Jedd Hobbs all wrote their names on the score-sheet too. Morgan put in a Player of the Match performance, showing great game understanding with his positioning both in and out of possession and decision making.
As for our U16 Girls, they lost 5-0 to Crystal Palace which proved to be the end of a brilliant cup run.
As ever, a huge thank you to Group LK and Glemnet for their continued support.
