Youth Academy update: Saturday 17th February

Our Youth Academy sides returned to action at the weekend as another round of JPL fixtures commenced.

We have to start with a huge congratulations to our U15 Boys who won the league with other results going their way on Saturday! A huge well done to all of the players, parents and staff involved.

Starting with our U13 Boys and they narrowly beat Woking 4-3 thanks to goals from Kian Taylor, Louis Edwardes, Jake Trim and Cyril Hoedoafia with Kian, alongside Dhilan Sahota and Ben Stacey achieving a spot in Team of the Week. The U13’s played some really good football, playing out from the back really well. They gave the ball away too easily towards the end of the first quarter and went 3-0 down during the second from a free kick from 30 yards. The Ravens nicked a goal before half-time and the tempo and attitude from the boys was exceptional for the last 40 minutes, scoring the winner in the last minute.

Moving on to our U14 Boys and they lost 4-0 to Welling United in a game which marked a good learning curve for them though if they are to develop.

As for our U16 Boys they enjoyed a narrow 2-1 win over Dorking Wanderers, despite conceding an early goal. However, they managed to grow into the game and after the 30 min until the end of the game, the boys played to their standards, paying with high intensity. It proved to be a lob sided second half as we turned the game over and equalised with Freddie Sinclair. Ethan Wright scored the winner five minutes before the final whistle. Special mentions go to Jedd Hobbs who put in a Player of the Match performance with high leadership skills within his box-to-box performance. Some elite level through-balls and high pressing intensity from Hobbs.

Moving on to our U16 Girls and they also secured a win at the weekend, beating West Ham 2-0 in a brilliant team performance in terms of players playing in unfamiliar roles and working for each other to the last minute. Shout-outs to Ava and Isabelle who both played out of position whilst Ruby wrote her name on the score-sheet.

As ever, a huge thank you to Group LK and Glemnet for their continued support.
