Youth Academy update: Saturday 20th January

Our Youth Academy sides returned to action on Saturday.

Starting with our U12 Boys and they drew 2-2 with PSA in what proved to be a very physical game with constant long balls from start to finish. The boys kept their shape really well and the back three were good in their aerial game. Ebik Gurung and Charley Compton scored for Bromley whilst Maxwell Caines clinched the Player of the Match award after a brilliant defensive display.

Moving on to our U13 Boys and they narrowly lost 3-2 to Wealdstone. TJ Owen netted a brace in a game where the Ravens played well for the majority of the game, but couldn’t come away with something from the clash. Rupert Knight and Kian Taylor picked up Player of the Match awards.

As for our U14 Boys, they also suffered a narrow defeat, losing 1-0 to Welling. However, they put in a performance to be proud of. The positive encouragement, movement off the ball and being brave on the ball under pressure meant the Ravens came away with their heads held high.

It proved to be a convincing win for our U14 Girls who won 10-0 against Sussex JPL. The first half started slow, but they were ruthless in the second, scoring seven of their 10. Rosie Farrow-Smith bagged a hat-trick whilst both Nuray Fray and Aaliyah Mansouri netted a brace. Amber Corner, Isla Mason and Isabelle Jones all found the net too. Rosie, who bagged three, picked up the Player of the Match award, proving to be a great addition to the team.

Our U15 Boys also finished the weekend victorious after beating Pro Soccer Academy 4-0. Max Rope netted a brace whilst Calum Verghese and Riley Stammers also scored for Bromley. Max has proved to be a great signing this year and he picked up the Player of the Match award.

Our U16 Boys beat Dartford 3-1 at the weekend. It proved to be a very dominant first half with good ball possession and a lot of chances created. Zak Lina netted a fantastic goal before Feranmi Dada made it two, scoring after a long time out. Jedd Hobbs made sure of the win from the spot as George Rees and Theo Beeching clinched the Player of the Match awards.

As ever, a huge thank you to Group LK and Glemnet for their continued support.
